About UsAbout
Northern Liberties is artsy, edgy, hip, sophisticated and the new place to live, shop, dine, play…and own a business. A decade ago, all you’d find in Northern Liberties were a few lingering industrial operations and a handful of local stores. Today, there is ample evidence of the rapidly expanding business environment. New restaurants, cafes, galleries, stores, boutiques and necessary services like banks now form a strong presence within the community: Northern Liberties has become a developer’s dream. Forbes Magazine has taken note of the investors & entrepreneurs that Northern Liberties is attracting, while the N.Y. Times has featured many of our specialty boutiques and restaurants. Northern Liberties is experiencing an upward bound evolution, stimulated by its proximity to the waterfront, Old City, Society Hill and Center City. In the mix of old and new, the number of local businesses keeps growing. Thus, the genesis of the NLBOA, a non-profit, 501-c3 organization formed in September of 2007.
